Job Title: Loss Prevention Investigator

Reports To: Manager, Loss Prevention & Investigations

FLSA Status: Salary Exempt

Role Type : Full Time

Work Location: On Site - Store Support Center – North Charleston, SC

Working Hours: Typical schedule is Monday – Friday but must have a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business (schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays).

Job Summary: The Loss Prevention Investigator will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the protection, safeguarding, and security of company assets and employees with a focus on LP Investigations. This person will be the primary point of contact for investigations within the organization and for law enforcement agencies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: This description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe all tasks that may be assigned.

• Ensures the protection of all company assets while developing and effectively driving preventative security programs and initiatives.

• Conducts both Internal (Employee) & External (ORC) investigations, as well as periodic interviews, with travel as necessary.

• Leads Internal Investigations in coordination with Operations & Human Resources as it relates to losses or violations and develops action plans to mitigate future loss.

• Conducts both remote and in the field investigations for any type of loss to the organization (inventory, cash, etc.).

• Works with local teams for support during Robbery, Burglary, Workplace Violence, & Ethics Investigations.

• Works with Operations & Accounting to investigate and resolve large & consistent cash variances.

• Supports security vendor relationships and workflow including CCTV, physical security, alarms armored car, safes, and guard vendors.

• Supports evaluating current procedures, practices, and precedents for the organization’s activities and functions relative to Loss Prevention & Investigations; identifies and resolves issues.

• Performs audits from time to time of security related performance and assesses stores & home office security, including security equipment.

• Serve as Refuels liaison with public law enforcement, other agencies, and vendors as it relates to security and investigations.

• Responds to store-based emergencies.

• Adhere to the Company’s established policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: An ideal candidate will have experience with or understanding of:

• Associates or Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Risk Management and/or Business;

• Prior investigations and interviewing experience

• Experience with MS Office; including Word, PowerPoint, & Excel.

• Strong analytical skills: able to identify trends and develop root cause solutions.

• Strong organizational skills: able to put together detailed reports and maintain case files.

• Strong oral and written communication skills & the ability to work with others at all levels of the organization.

• Must be comfortable working in an independent manner, able to multi-task, be flexible with change, and prioritize to the needs of the business.

Education and Experience: An ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:

• Wicklander-Zulawski Interview & Integration Techniques certification

• High school diploma or equivalent

Working environment and physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.

Travel:

• Travel and overnight stays to Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas, North Carolina, and South Carolina will be a regular part of this job and will vary based on the needs of the business.
