Loss Prevention Supervisor

The company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Loss Prevention Supervisor to join our team at The Westin. This role is ideal for a proactive leader who can safeguard company assets, minimize shrinkage, and supervise a team focused on maintaining a safe and secure retail environment. As a Loss Prevention Supervisor, you will play a critical role in protecting company profitability while ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols.

Job Summary

The Loss Prevention Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily loss prevention operations, supervising loss prevention staff, and implementing strategies to reduce theft, fraud, and operational losses. This position requires strong leadership skills, keen observational abilities, and the capacity to manage a team while working cross-functionally with store operations and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the loss prevention team, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Lead investigations into theft, fraud, and other incidents of loss, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and analyze data to identify patterns of loss, theft, or suspicious activity.
  • Train and mentor loss prevention associates on safety protocols, company policies, and investigative techniques.
  • Collaborate with store management and other departments to develop and implement loss prevention strategies.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational standards.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, working with law enforcement when necessary to resolve situations appropriately.
  • Prepare detailed reports on loss prevention activities, incidents, and trends for senior management review.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in loss prevention, security, or related field.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of loss prevention techniques, investigative procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate with other departments.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business, or related field.
  • Certification in Loss Prevention (e.g., LPQ, LPC) is a plus.
  • Experience with retail or warehouse loss prevention operations.
  • Familiarity with local and state laws related to theft, fraud, and security procedures.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in using CCTV and surveillance monitoring systems.
  • Experience with loss prevention software and case management tools.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and identify loss trends.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and documentation purposes.
